Each day we have the gift of another day to live. How do you receive that gift?

I realize there was a time in my life when I would awake and wish things were different. I wished to have more. When I had that more, then I could be truly happy.

Now, I know better, but I find myself sometimes wishing for “things that would make my homeschooling better”. I may want a specific program that is out of our budget, or an addition to our home to have a dedicated school area, or the ability to be spontaneous and take off on weekend trips whenever we pleased. Maybe after I get these things we can all be happier and our school days will go smoother.

We all know this is not the voice of reality, this is the voice of society. Society that thinks the more money we dump into education equals better education.

The truth is in each morning we need to learn to wake accepting the gift of a new day. Accepting this new gift with happiness instead of regret. If we are happy our children will also 'catch' this happy attitude in us, which will in turn make for great days instead of underrated regretful days.
