The following gives you a basic idea of how this site is put together, so you can find what you need around the site.

There are six main tabs when you enter the HomeEducator LinkUp. Each is described below.

  • Home: This is pretty self-explanitory, but it's actually a useful tab. Keep track of when members come and go by clicking on the home "tab." This also flags you when you have a new private message. If there's a new private message in your inbox and you click on the "home" tab, you'll see a little envelop flashing in the upper left corner near your profile image.
  • My LinkUp: This tab is like your own personal webspace on HomeEducator LinkUp. From here you can change your profile, send a private message to someone you have a connection with, submit a link to a site you like, and post your own personal blog.
  • Internet Resources: The "internet resources" tab gathers all the favorites of the web in one location. There are links, news, videos, great blogs from other sites.
  • Community: The "community" tab brings the HomeEducator LinkUp community together. It's where you can meet new members, follow discussions in forums, post a review to a product you like, read a blog posting either from other members or HomeEducator LinkUp specific blogs, and join groups.
  • Students: The "students" tab gives homeschool students a chance to interact with others who are study the same things they are or have some of the same interests as them. They have their own forums, can read blog postings, can sign up for classes in the blackboard system, and, when they're done working hard, they can find some family friendly games. Parents can monitor what their children are discussing and reading on the LinkUp.
  • Parents: The "parents" tab gives parents access to their own forums, blogs, and their own access to the classroom so they can see how their kids are doing in their blackboard classes.
